About the Cover
The image shows representative species of Psychotria, one of 23 genera representing 15 tribes of the diverse Rubiaceae family that were documented at the Northern Sierra Madre Natural Park (NSMNP) in Isabela province, Philippines. All 53 species found in the park constitute about 9.72% of the total number in the country, with 31 and two being endemic nationwide and in the province, respectively. One species was classified as critically endangered while another one was endangered, with two each recognized as highly threatened and vulnerable. The NSMNP, which remains underexplored in terms of its flora, holds the record of being the widest remaining tropical rainforest on the island of Luzon. The protection of its plant species could be more resounding if adequate attention is given to their richness, distribution, and conservation status. To learn more, go to page 909–923.
