ABSTRACT
A taxonomic review of Stenchaetothrips Bagnall in the Philippines is presented. The genus is represented by six species in the Philippines – namely the pest of rice, S. biformis (Bagnall); S. fuscus (Moulton) collected on sugarcane seedlings; the pest of sugarcane, S. minutus (van Deventer); the pest of bamboo, S. spinalis Reyes; S. victoriensis(Moulton) collected on unknown plant; and S. mindorensis sp. nov. collected on unknown plant (Poaceae) and sugarcane. A description of one species new to science, a redescription of five previously recorded species, and an illustrated key to the identification of Stenchaetothripsspecies in the Philippines are provided.
